Pelling
Pelling is a town in the district of West Sikkim, India. Pelling is nestled at an altitude of 2,150 m. The town is located at a distance of 10 km from the district headquarters of Geyzing. A regular bus service connects the two towns.
This small beautiful town in West Sikkim is situated at the height of 6840 ft. and the last motorable destination towards Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. Due to its unique location Pelling is an ideal place for nature lovers and is famous for its superb scenic beauty which is impossible to describe in words but requires to feel. The magnificent view of mighty Kanchenjunga massif, which is considered to be the guardian deity of Sikkim and its surrounding snow capped Himalayan peaks, ie. Koktang, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Kabru Dom, Pandim, Zopunu, Shimbho, Narsing, Sinialchu etc. Forest covered hills and the entire route to Zongri from Yuksom can be visible from here and all of them offer a heavenly beauty which is unforgettable for the whole of life.
Pelling is an excellent base for all trekking expeditions in the western region, offering a number of unfrequented trails through some of the most spectacular mountain terrain.
